School Houses at Kinloss Primary School

School Houses

All children are assigned to a ‘House’. Throughout the year a series of House Competitions are held. These consist of several events spread over the year, culminating in the School Sports held in June. Other events include the usual team games, crosscountry running, a quiz, models art competitions etc., some involving teams and others the entire house.

The four houses are called

Aigan, Morven, Rinnes and Wyvis.

The houses are named after mountains found to the north, south and east of Kinloss.

Each house is represented by a different colour t-shirt which the children in that house wear of PE. School t-shirts can be purchased from the school office, or a plain coloured t-shirt can also be purchased and worn from other shops.

AIGAN - is blue             Morven - is red           Rinnes - is green        Wyvis - is yellow

In September, our Primary 7 pupils are invited to apply to become a School House Captain. They write letters of application, prepare their presentations for the school, who then vote for their winning House Captain.

Pupil Voice Groups / Pupil Challenge Groups / After School Clubs

Pupil Voice Groups and Pupil Challenge Group Afternoons
Throughout the year on a Wednesday from 2.30 – 3.00pm, pupils are given the choice to be part of a Pupil Voice Group that will help benefit either the school or the community.  These clubs include:

Choir Sports Pupil Council  Eco Council Health & Wellbeing  Gardening
Crafts Junior Road Safety Playground Games Science   Rights Respecting Group Play

Pupils also have an opportunity to be part of a Pupil Challenge Group to experience a range of different leanring activities and skills with different teachers across the school. These take place in 4 or 6 week blocks across the school year.

After School Clubs

Due to Covid-19 we have been unable to run the clubs which we normally would, however we hope this changes in 2022 / 2023. We have been able to run several lunchtime clubs for all pupils, during this academic year:

  • Art Club
  • Drama Club
  • Deployment Club

Each Club has a certain amount of spaces and children all have a turn at attending the different clubs across the week.
