Armed Forces Information for families posted to Kinloss, Moray
Moving to a new posting, a new house and a new school can be exciting and something to look forward to, or it can be difficult and worried about - a lot!
At Kinloss Primary School we try and make the process as stress free as possible. If you know you are posted to Kinloss please contact Mrs McInally, our school administrator, and she will send you information about coming to join our school. We will answer any of your queries and hopefully the information in the welcome pack will provide you with a lot of useful information.
If you are deployed at all, please inform the school as we have additional supports we can put in place for your child. Please see the dedicated page about Deployment support.
First day at Kinloss Primary School
On the morning that you join us at Kinloss Primary School, either myself Mrs Wolford (Head Teacher) or Miss Michell (Depute Head Teacher), will give you a full tour of the school and meet with you to discuss any last minute queries. We are quite a large school and the tour normally takes between 20 - 30 minutes. After the tour, you may do some work with Mrs Homer, to have a chat about how you are feeling coming to Kinloss Primary School. Then it is time for class! You will join your class mates before break time and you will be given a buddy to help show you around (there will be a lot going on and you may have forgotten from the tour!).

Joining our school
We hope that joining our school is a positive experience for all of the children who come to our school and that the additional supports from the class teacher, buddies and Mrs Homer helps them to settle in to our school community. In their first whole school assembly they are presented with their Welcome certificate to welcome into our school.
Transition booklets
When a family informs us that they are leaving due to a new move or posting to another area, Mrs Homer works with the child to develop their own individual transition booklet to help build memories of Kinloss Primary School and tell the new school all about wonderful them.
Leaver Certificate
Mrs Homer works with the child to create memories with their friends in our school, to find out more about their new school, and reassure them about the transition to a new school.
They are also presented with the Leaver Award certificate for being a fantastic member of our school community, in their last whole school assembly.
